don't pay for it, they may be phishing for your information..go to www.freecreditreport.com and order your report from one of the 3 credit report companies. Esperian, Transunion, or equifax. you can have a report form each of these once a year. If they are o.k. you don't need a credit score, If you buy a car or house etc the bank will pay for your score..right now keep your credit good and you will maintain a good score.

Who is asking for a credit card number?? NEVER give your credit card number to stranger (or even a friend) unless you are using it to make a purchase. Then be darn certain you are dealing with a reputable company. Now, to obtain your credit report, which will also include your credit score, all the Bank (or you) need to provide is your name, address, and social security number. I'm still worried about who "They" is in your question and why "they" are saying "they" need your credit card number. Is this because you are tyring to get your score over the internet and "they" want a credit card to pay for the service? You can go to your local bank and ask them to pull a credit report for you; be prepared to sign a form giving them permission to do it & pay about $25 fee.

If you want a credit report, as opposed to a score, you can get one for free. You need to pay for your credit score.
Go here:
http://www.annualcreditreport.com
This is the only site that doesn't charge you or require that you sign up for something; as such, they won't ask for a credit card. It gives you reports from all three reporting companies.
All companies are legally required to give you a free report once per year.

It is supposed to be a "free" credit report, isn't it?..... Well, they ask for your credit card so that they can bill it every month for your credit check.... it is a service they supposedly offer you... they do it to make sure that you know when an erroneous entry has occurred on your card.........
there are places that you can go to.... i feel bad that I don't have that address for you.....
but, I know that the company you are talking about it bogus......

Ginger
