The Iraq study group's recomendations come from a bi-partisan context, also known as Liberals making the gameplan. The ISG simply does not have a viable plan to achieve victory. It is hard of course to expect anything different when there was not one person with Military experience. Basically it is an un-credible report which the media has decided, the Democrats as well, to use as Gospel. Unfortunately, the Democrats in power are the same group of people who made the US snatch defeat out of the hands of victory in Vietnam. It seems they are using the same exact tactics as they did in the 60's and 70's.

To me the most telling part of all of this is if you listen to what the soldiers on the ground say. Stepping over the heads of the generals and other officers. For instance, Sean Hannity, after Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfield spoke, did a candid interview with several soldiers. They know what the debate is like back here. "You either do or you don't [support the troops and the war]." The soldiers do not believe that we have any faith in them. "We can win this war, but the politicians can lose it."
Our soldiers are brilliant, and they can win this war. the only way we lose, is by doing it here at home. That is what the ISG is asking us to do.

After reading the report - I am now convinced that it was written by people who have never been to Iraq and nave done nothing but listen to the news media.

Their proposals were either blindingly obvious things that we are already doing or incredibly inane.

Think about it - with Iran financing Sadar and his death squads they propose that Iran should become more involved in Iraq. I am still trying to figure out how they managed to come up with this gem.
