FRINTON-ON-SEA

""Frinton-on-Sea is sedate, with no pubs…" wrote the AA Book of British Towns in 1982. That was before Shepherd Neame opened the Lock & Barrel in September 2000 - the first pub in the town's history"

Yep, Frinton-on-Sea, currently involved in a battle to keep their level crossing gates!!

The answer to your question Jatelf, they crossed the railway line (at the above gates) and went to the slightly less select resort of Clacton on Sea!
