NOPE......i think they use that excuse MUCH to often!! Everyone needs a psych eval before they go to trial. BULL$HIT! If you committed the crime then you should have to deal with the consequences...plain and simple!

The courts agreed she had mental problems, the family agrees. I don't care that she has mental problems and I completely agree with you but she's not pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. She is mentally screwed up and will never get out of the hospital (last I heard) Our system tries to help those who can't make decisions because of mental incapacity. Think about it this way if you were suffering post-partum and injured your baby would you just want them to put you in jail or get you help so you can go back to a normal life and be w/ your family again?

You're pissed off because you obviously got in some type of trouble with the law and you don't know why. Why don't you go some research online about the case, then go to a chat room and talk about it.
Everyone has already given you the answer to the first question and you didn't like it so you're posting it again. If you're not careful you'll be reported and then we won't have the privelage of reading your upset comments with very bad puncuation.
And yes, if she was proven to have a mental illness I would be okay with her going to the crazy house because it is the same as jail time, if you think difference you haven't done your homework. Those family visits are only brief and mainly just to convience the family and friends that there isn't anything funny going on, when in reality they are sedated most of the time and have no clue what is going on.
It wasn't that she "waited" until her husband left for work to commit the crime, he just happened to be gone when she snapped. Since you don't have children, you have no idea how hard it is to raise 5 kids, and the case also revealed that her husband didn't help her a lot. She snapped, she was stressed and lost it. She ran after her son because she snapped, not necissarily because it was premeditated.
I would never have a BABYSITTER for my children, I want to be a good mom, that's why I'm one of the few that used my brain to have an idea of when I want to have children so I can have them in my care, not ship them into daycare of babysitting.
Maybe this time you'll get the answer you can agree with.

The story you speak of was a horrible tragedy, and if people didn't get angry there would be something wrong, however having worked in a mental health facility, and having loved someone with mental problems, I suggest that you do a little research to understand what actually really does go on in the head of a diseased person, they cannot control it, she probably wishes she were dead also, now that she has been medicated, why did her mate continue to get her pregnant repeatedly when this had been an issue in the past. Perhaps the blame lies with more than one or two people.

How could someone who is NOT mentally ill kill 5 of her own children?
Post partum depression is a medically recognized legitimate illness that affects women who have recently given birth. It probably didn't help that she wasn't wound to tight to begin with and that her husband was abusive towards her.
She will probably spend years in a mental hospital, which is probably worse than prison.

She suffered from post partum psychotic depression which is a severe mental illness. Check it out on the web. I dated a guy whose wife suffered from this disorder. She thought she was hearing voices telling her to commit suicide. She did. So before you complain, do a little research re her condition.

ive known people with mental illnesses. i have never seen any of them express they wanted to kill any one. nor have they. they are too wrapped up in what is going on with them to care about hurting another person. she will get whats coming to her eventually.
