Actually, what you just said isn't true. We've know the Earth was round for a couple thousand years (Ptolemy noted that the Earth was round based on Lunar eclipses). The Catholic church just didn't like the idea. There were only a few yahoos at the time of Columbus that DIDN'T believe the Earth was round.
No, that verse can't be used as "Evidence" the Bible is true. That's just the Bible making a 'true statement'. The Bible also references Jet streams, early floods, common genetic ancestors, dinosaurs and neanderthals, though amazingly accurate, these statements don't make it true, either.
Saying the Bible is True based on those arguments doesn't work.. To justify its claims you need to look for evidence that the author had knowledge that superceded human knowledge in any way, shape or form.
(read some prophecies)

The Greeks knew the earth was spherical, not a circle, by about 500 BC. They had even determined the approximate circumference
. Christian Europeans came to this realization long after most of the rest of the world's great civilizations figured out.
And what does a tent look like ? The sides come to the ground. Seem to be this is describing something like a plate(earth) with one of those covers used for keeping bugs off (Heavens)

A circle is a 2 dimensiional, flat shape. And exactly how would that quote prove the earth is a ball or globe shape? If anything it proves the bible to be just what I've always thought it to be.....a chirsitan mythology book.

I don't think so because in ancient times people believed the earth was circular- like a plate, not like a globe.
The bible also states other cosmological truths which were totally inaccurate. If you are interested in opposing views on the subject you could look at fundamentalist Christian information for the "pro" side and then look at "bible errancy" information for the "con" side.
"Bible Errancy" is the study of error in the bible.

right it is why i experience interior the Bible. I have studied different teachings of religions and diverse denominations interior the Bible. Prophecy is the only element which leads me to settle for the accuracy of the Bible because the written note of God. first of each and each and every of the Bible is not any mans interpretation. adult males spoke and wrote as they were moved with techniques from the Holy Spirit... The Bible has been written over thousands of years on 3 continents... all of it coincides one from yet another... the issue with interpretation takes position even as one feels their finite human understanding can determine the which technique of Holy Scriptures which have manifold meaning. not one atheist has requested for the Holy Spirit to determine the Bible. and those who've requested have received abundantly. except for the prophecies defined interior the Bible are the evidence... they are not imprecise and established... there have been prophecies which defined Jesus ministry, even as he ought to die. How he ought to die, the position he ought to die, what ought to ensue after he died, who ought to do what including his outfits, which kinfolk he ought to come from. How lengthy the ministry ought to very last... THE BIBLE anticipated the upward thrust AND FALL OF THE BABYLONIAN EMPIRE (Dan 7:4), to MEDO PERSIAN with its 3 provinces Egypt, Lydia, and Babylon. (Dan 7:5)(Dan 8:20), to GREECE (Dan8:21) with its 4 heads representing 4 generals. (Dan 7:6)(Dan 8:22), to ROME, and the WESTERN ROMAN DIVIDED EMPIRE (Dan 7:7)...the Bible foretold the Medo Persian Empire Prophecies of Alexander the excellent (Dan 8:5) His 4 generals (Dan 8:8), how alexander ought to die. Prophecies of Rome uprooting 3 kingdoms(Dan 7:8; 8:9) in the course of the enlargement of the roman empire after the 365 days 538a.d. even as emperor Justinian gave the keys of the dominion to the arch bishop of Rome, and he moved his kingdom to Constantinople... Please learn history, and then study Daniel and the Revelation... I please e mail me in case you want evidence of those prophecies... I have the 120 5 prophecies recorded of Jesus. now to not indicate the prophecies about each and each and every of the empires... that is my information that if the Bible makes a prediction and no human being knows history (which does not lie) than how will they comprehend if the Bible is telling the fact? God Bless you!

Why do people keep quoting the bible as though its proof? Any verse in the bible can be twisted to mean almost anything. It's not proof of anything.
