Oral allergy such as ear itch following ingestion is not dangerous. I'd worry about the lip swelling, though. I doubt you'll end up having to give up your favorite food, but check the ingredient list. It may be that something in the particular recipe used is what's causing your symptoms. However, if your favorite food is a fruit or vegatable it may be as simple as how the produced is treated before it reaches your hands. In that case, try a fruit wash or go organic.
I do agree with the others, see a doctor to feel safe.

I would be concerned about the swollen lips. Allergies are strange things, they can come on suddenly (even when previously not allergic). They can also develop slowly, getting progressively worse. Your lips could swell this time, next time it could be your tongue or your throat, you could develop an anaphylactic reaction. Anaphylaxis is a potentially life threatening allergic reaction. You should stop eating the food. See your doctor for allergy testing.

Yes. Don't risk it. Anaphylactic shock is a life threatening allergic reaction. You don't want to have a reaction like that if you can't get medical attention right away. Go to an allergist and have them test you for whatever it is that gives you the reaction you're talking about. In the meantime, have Benedryl with you and if the symptoms appear, take 1-2, but they make you drowsy so please be careful if you're driving. I was told to always have Benedryl and my epi-pen with me in the event of a reaction.

I used to have oral allergies to all raw fruits and vegetables. Salads were out. After getting desensitation shots for 5 years, my oral allergies went away.

If your throat feels like it is starting to close up, then that is one of the symptoms of anaphlaxsis and is very serious. If you are starting to have this feeling when eating that food, stop eating that food immediately and seek medical attention. Anaphlaxsis can kill if not treated quickly.
