There have been cases where a guy will spend months or even years in a long term relationship with a girl he really likes, and then break it off saying he isn't ready to get married. But then a year later he finds another chick and marries her. (remember the whole Ben Affleck/Jennifer Garner/JLo fiasco). I don't get it.

Feelings aside, would she fit into what you are trying to achieve in your life? Could you work with her and feel that she has benefited your work? Do you enjoy being in her presence?
Do you see how you would fit into her life?
Marriage is about making a life together. The less you feel you have to change about each other the more success in marraige you will have. Remember fools rush in!

It's not only Muslim men who do this practice. I'm Jewish and so is my husband. I would have to say it's more of a cultural thing. My husband dated non Jewish girls however when he was thinking about getting serious with someone it made him re-think the relationship. He wanted someone with a similar culture and up bringing as him. There are women to do convert to Islam or to Judaism. It's more of a cultural issue. I would like to point out that Arabs are not a religion it's an ethnic group. There are several Arabs who are Christians, I know a few that are Christians and have married non Arabic girls. However the girls they married are also Christian. It's more of a cultural thing. If your dating a muslim just ask him, about his traditions and culture.

Number one would be a girl that doesn't give off that aura of "I will probably sleep around on you". Number two... I'd say a girl that you could vividly imagine spending the rest of your life with, and have that be a pretty picture. Number three, a girl who is compatible with you in most ways and compliments you, in those areas in which you are weak.

I romanced my husband into marriage with a positive pregnancy test. lol. I am NOT recommending that.
It's not any one thing. My husband says, someone he doesn't mind hanging out with and doesn't mind looking at, and someone who's a lil horny. lol (that helps!)

every guy knows what type of girl he wants. it might take us a while to figure it out but we know. and when we find that girl that fits those requirementswe know because she will complete us.
