I live out west and I have been communicating via emails and through myspace with a guy who lives on the
east coast. We both have mutual friends here in the west, but we have never met personally.
Anyway, we have been flirty in our messages to one another. Not sexual, just flirty.

Then the other day I ran into one of our mutual acquaintances and she told me he was in a relationship (had a girlfriend).
Well, he just sent me another message saying he was coming out west to my city in February, and wanted to know what the weather was like here in February.
Now, I know he could easily ask one of his other friends who live out here what the weather is like.

Here’s the question!
Do you think he was trying to see what I would say when I found out he was coming to my city??
Was he trying to line up a "hook up" while away from his girlfriend?
Or.....is he just curious about the weather?

Opinions, please.

I'm not asking IF I should hookup with him, or whether I should get in a long distant relationship.

I wanted to know IF he was throwing me a hint that he wanted to meet me.

I need to know , because I really do not want to email him back something inappropriate and make an *** out of myself.
I figured most guys on here would know what his intentions are, considering guys think a lot alike. ;-)

You have never met this man, and you are flirty on myspace, then he tells you out of the blue he is coming out west where you live, and you do not know what his intentions are?

I think it's pretty clear he wanted to see what you'd say about him coming to your town.

Anybody can get online and look up the weather in any city in the world.

If he is having a gf, he is cheating her
if he is single , he is trying to hook up with you.
In the mean while long distance relationships don't work...

that guy will hook up with you.. he's not curious about the weather he is curious on you.. the weather subject is just a distraction so that you will meet with him

you know him better then anyone, if you have to question this then your gut instint of him trying to find out for a hookup is prob right.
