see the electromagnetic spectrum. Get colros but they amount of light the object absorbs or reflects. Ex: Black is black because it absorbs all wavelengths of light which is why you get more hot in the summer when you wear dark colors.

objects refract light... which means they absorb the colours contained in light and reject or reflect parts of the light "ray"... if an object seems red, that is because it is absorbing all the colours of the light "rainbow" and reflecting the red part back out

light waves either absorb or bounce off of an object. the bouncing off is the color that you will see with your eyes.
