I am diagonised with Low Back Pain about 5 months back. I am taking pain releiving tablets and gel for local aplication apart from LS Belt. After 3 months of wearing the belt, my doctor advised me to discard the LS belt and practice physiotherapy. But without belt, if I bent or lift moderatly heavy articles, I get pain in the lower back. I want to know what are the other treatment options? In future, if it is not diminished, will I need to undergo surgery? I used to ride two wheeler by wearing the belt. My job is office job, computer related, full time. I have got other diseases like Depression, Anxiety,Hypercholestrolemia, Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis and GH.
Will any doctors or experienced patients may answer my question.?

First of all, if you fel better with the belt, then wear it.

Second, there are exercises that your doctor should have informed you about which will strengthen your lower back and help relieve pain. These exercises do help. You must be vigilant in doing them at least twice a day - morning and night.

Third, and VERY important - how you sit at your office job affects your lower back. You may need to buy a lower back support cushion, OR a back support system office chair.

I would see a chiropractor, not an MD for chronic low back pain. I also have this and see my chiropractor whenever I have the money. Keep wearing your belt and whatever you do....leave surgery for LAST....as a last resort. Besides, I got rid of a cardiac arrhythmia, high blood pressure, hot flashes and panic attacks by turning to chiropractic. It took 4 years of treatment. I began going 4 times a week, then 3 times, then twice...then once and now I only go when I need it. However, I had suffered for years before trying adjustments to my spine. The cardiologist told me it wouldn't help, but if I was going to insist, to go ahead and try it. Well, I ended up blowing kisses good-bye to the heart doctor.

The chiropractors also carry Bio-Freeze. It is fantastic and doesn't leave a medicinal odor. I even use it when I get headaches by rubbing it on the back of my neck. I take two extra strength Excedrin and in 20 minutes the headache is gone. If you choose to see the chiropractor, chances are the other (so called diseases) you have will eventually disappear.

The treatment I get is heat for 10 minutes, then cold for 10 minutes. (ice pack) The reason for the ice pack is that when the nerves in our spines are pinched, they swell and cause the pain. The cold will help relieve the swelling in the nerves thus alleviating the pain.

I went to doctors for years and almost died from being over medicated. I haven't taken anything except Advil or Excedrin in 13 years. What MD can make that statement? Good luck

Sounds like you have a bit going on. Specifically for the lower back pain I recommend doing some stomach strengthening exercises. You can even do these lying in bed.

In bed but preferably on floor lay flat on your back.

Take the small of your lower back and press it against the floor or the mattress and hold that position for10-15 seconds. You will feel your abs working and getting a bit fatigued Repeat 3-5 times or as much as you like. You'll be stretching and strengthening your stomach which may help your back. I hope.

Stop lifting heavy articles. See if you can start exercising more to help with your depression/anxiety..

Good luck.

go see a chiropractor. Dont go the medical doctor route with back pain. Medication will only cover the symptoms and give you the false sense that you are cured.
I am a chiropractor and treat LBP all the time and many times after people have underwent surgery or a handful of meds.
go see a chiropractor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aslo, PT or physiotherapy will not really fix the problem, it will only allow your body to compensate for the problem, in essence and in the long run, create another one.

Treatments include: ultrasound for pain, hot packs for chronic pain, massage, electrical stimulation (which helped my pinched cervical nerve heal quicker). When you lift are you lifting correctly? For most but not all people you cant give up on stetching and exercising your back in a safe way. You need to keep it strong to help overcome the pain.

I recommend going to the chiropractor, it feels amazing! You will feel sore at first, but it really does relieve back pain, and after a month or two you feel great for several weeks (depending on when they want you to come in.)

Check out Xango juice, it's an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It will cost you about $100 a month but is natural and had a great track record. Consider what you spend in medications and doctor bills per month.
