Branding is essential in Marketing. In fact, global brands are rankedin order of importance. Currently Coca-Cola is the most valuable breand in the world.

Strong branding inspires consumer confidence, and provides consistency among the usage experience. Virtually every aspect of marketing is utilized in order to supplement the brand or add to its previously existing equity. Marketing also takes into a ccount when a brand is strong enough to support what is called "line extension". For example Coca-Cola introduced Coke Blak. BLockbuster initiated a mail order service like Netflix. These are both brand extension strategies. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Marketing itself has no equity to speak of. Branding, howeverm, does. IT is a major determining factor in the choices made by the consumer of any given product.

would u consume a product that hasn't a brand on it? First, branding is a key defense against commoditization - a situation in which a company’s products and services become perceived by buyers as being interchangeable with those of other companies, so buying decisions become driven by price. With the trend toward instantly and globally searchable competition across all product and service categories, the pull toward commoditization is now an elemental force in marketing. The value of branding - intelligent, relevant, branding that effectively differentiates you from your competition - has never been higher ame on it..

Most people know them or, at least, are aware of them. They may consider buying products of only certain brands when making their purchases. I also believe that a good marketing mix would enhance the selling of products belonging to specific brands.

well if I go to the hardware store and get crastman or K&H hand tools I know it's going to last for a while. I could buy a cheaper one and have it break halfway through the job but, that is a pain. I've had experience with Crastman ratchets and wrenches they are good. I know it is a tool I can trust.

Not that I've broke many of my tools. just the sizing of wrenches seems just a little more accurate.
So when I go to buy power tools who am I gonna trust.
