It's unethical for anyone to do this without the person's permission. (And I think it should only be done between husband and wife, if at all.)

I'm not sure if this is a serious question, but I will address it as if it was asked seriously:
Most would find it immoral to do this. Are the students children (in k-12) or are they young adults in college? If they are children, I would say that it is not good to have these thoughts, and they should NEVER be acted upon. And maybe the position should be questioned if the instructor feels that he/she cannot seperate personal feelings from professionalism.
On the other hand, if these are young adults, then it is perfectly fine to fantasize about another adult. We all do it, regardless of if we admit it or not. These are sexually involuntary thoughts that inflict us all. An instructor is just as human as anyone else and is entitled to these natural feelings. I am sure that it happens in the minds of instructors/teachers/coaches/etc. more than you think--but it is never made apparent of course!
However, even if both parties are adult, there are always boundaries that should NEVER be overstepped for reason of ethic, respect, and even just keeping your job! An instructor should never verbally or physically sexually harass a student. including staring at the student in a sexual way. If the urge is too strong, then it should be done very discreetly. But these feelings should be suppressed while in the presence of the student.
Even if you have sexual attraction to a student, it is possible to have a normal relationship with the student if these feelings are regarded as personal, for the mind only and not for reality, and not to be acted upon. This is what separates a mature adult from a sex offender.

..unethical? I'd say YES. You have a responsibility to your students, and to the parents of those students that are TRUSTING you to be PROFESSIONAL at your current position. Yes, you are human, BUT, are you letting this LUST get in the way of performing your teaching job? I say QUIT these high school boyish actions and SHAPE UP! Be the teacher you were hired to be. And don't let these sexual fantasies with these students get you or them in any life changing trouble. I.E.,, sexual harrassment, or JAIL time! Everyone is counting on you to be a role model, a leader, a PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEMBER!!!SO BE THAT OR GET OUT OF THE TEACHING/INSTRUCTOR PROFESSION!!Don't RISK damaging our KIDS if you can't STOP.

Well, an instructor is pretty much a normal person and since this happens while walking down the street you can't really get mad about it. It starts to get wrong when they give any notice that they notice or when they start making moves on that. Otherwise though, honestly, people are people and are going to act like them no matter what sort of role they play.

It is bad form to get caught doing it. The teacher should show some class and respect about it.
We fired a teacher's aid for taking nude shots of a student in a classroom after school. He's out of town for a while rooming with Bubba at the Gray Bar Hilton.

Yes! I know people can not help the way they feel and what turns their crank. But you need to learn how to control your mind. Just the idea that you had to ask if it is unethical scares me a little.

Yes, an instructor needs to keep a professional state of mind with those he works with and keep his personal life personal.

I think that this is personally normal behavior, I know I look at the girls at my work with lust, so I feel for where he is coming from.
