I seem to always want to have deeper relationships with people, and ignore the shallow/surface ones. I know that I am not connect with everyone, is it because I never got that deep connection with my own parents? Should I be getting this deep relationship with God? if so, how? How can i master shallow relationships, and actually look forward to them and seeing those people.

additional note, I actually avoid people that I don't have anything in common with them, and can't stand to make small talk with them. That's what I meant about needing help to actually talk with these types of people/relationships.

If your at the beach and you'd like to get to deep waters, you'll have to swim through the shallow water first.

I can't help you. For some reason, I can't find relationships I can hold onto. I let people walk all over me.
