One of my recent boyfriends started out great but a few weeks into it, he would have huge emotional highs where he would overspend, not sleep at all and want a lot of sex followed by lows when he would be critical, depressed and depressing and hell to be around. One of the early warning signs were the mood swings and his abuse of alcohol and cannabis. What are some other warning signs that a man (or woman for that matter) is unstable?

ello,I just answerd a question similar to your concern and I told her that drugs can cause these 'Highs and Lows',but I would like you to read up on Bi-Polar Illness and approach him gently with what you need him to at least consider an evaluation to find out what it may be.My brother in in-law is bi polar ,but the symptons also look like early stages or Parkinsons .I wish I could help u more but that's all I can suggest.I pray you find your man will figure this out as I cannot even imagine what it's doing to you.

You want MORE signs?! If I were you,I'd get out and leave quickly! This guy started that with me,the last straw was when he grabbed me so tight he left a mark. I knew i was no time at all before he'd e leaving marks everywhere else too,so I left and I'm so glad i did. Never looked back either.

The poor fellow sounds like he has bipolar disorder. He probably doesn't even realize he's having problems like that . . . maybe you should mention it to him when he's kinda normal. Really, it sounds almost like a textbook case. There are very effective medicines for that . . . if only you can get him to go to counseling. You might be the only one who knows this too, so try to help him out! Good luck!
