I suggest that you get your hair thinned if you do not want to disturb your current style to take bulk out that can be weighing you down. After that when shampooing and conditioning be sure to shampoo twice and when it comes time to condition only put the conditioner on the ends. When it comes to style your hair use mousse if you have thin hair but if thick use gel. Blow dry as normal until hair is slightly damp. Then using a brush or comb brush hair in the opposite direct it usually flows to get big body . Or to save hassle buy velcro rolllers and pull hair to opposite side of flow and roll and finish blowing dry. Leave roller in til cool . And you should have plenty of body.

Okay, i kinda have the same problem but my hair isnt really that flat to start with.
Anways,, what i do after i straighten it i get a towel and just run it all over my hair as if i was drying it from the shower or something. after doing that i brush it a little bit (so it doesnt look so dry) and then i get a little product and just run it through my bangs of hair. after this i just style it a bit more using my fingers.
the end result i get it thicker looking hair with more volume.
i hope this helps

dry it w/the nozzle thingy that came w/your hair dryer if you still have it. Use a round bristle brush because the metal ones fry your hair. you gotta dry it from root to tip following the brush w/the dryer. the brush goes under your hair. then you need to use those big velcro jumbo rollers and you can just do the top layer of your hair. curl it under all the way to the root. then blast w/your hair dryer for like 30 seconds. do your make up and stuff. let the rollers out, finger comb and voila! supermodel voume-y hair.

Layering it will add body to your hair. What worked for my flat head was to get a perm with big curls. This does not look crazily curly, but keeps my head from looking flat.

Your crazy to think that, firstly if you think your hair looks better a certain way, then do that. If you desire to look like a certain way, then experiment with it. If your comfortable of the latter, then do something to your hair so that it wouldn't look so flat.

this should work like a charm...
1) wash hair
2) put a little mousse or something at the roots
3) blow dry your hair with your head between your legs (i know haha) and combing your hair away from the scalp

* the key is brushing hair away from your head instead of the regular downward motion while blow drying*

Goodluck!

Try using a shampoo and/or a conditioner that has a volumizer in it and also use mousse when you blow dry.
