Okay, I have light brown hair, very boring, and honestly i think i look bad with that color. I really want to dye my hair for the first time, but i don't know if hair dye from the box would be a bad idea? Because i can't afford to get it professionaly done, so if i did want to dye my hair a darker color, i would use the box kind. What brand looks good and looks like you got it done professionaly? To see what i mean with my hair, click the link to see a pic...

It's a good idea! It's much cheaper! Although most brands are the same, I would go with Loreal.

Coloring from at home is easy and saves a lot of money.. if you are a 1st timer though I would go with a NON permanant hair color - one that washes out in 8-12 shampoos so you can try a few colors to see which one you like before you consider using a permanant hair color... Permanant haircolor will never wash out and you would have to grow your hair out or recolor it to change the color.
You have a slightly reddish tint to your hair.. I would suggest you try Loreal semi permanant in light auburn.... Or if you like the brown but just want to give it some oomph why not try a highlighting kit that you can do at home?

No matter what.. go to Sally's beauty supply.. in the haircolor section they sell a conditioner by Feria.. it comes in a tube that looks like toothpast.. it is the most AWESOME conditioner for colored hair. It is the same conditioner that comes in permanant hair dye boxes.

Good luck!

Its not a bad idea if you follow instructions and do a test on a strand of hair from the nap of your neck before doing the whole of your head in case you don't like the color. Try Schwarzkopf products, they are the best in colors. But if your willing to hold out before doing a permanent colour, try doing a semi permanent or rinse with the color of your choose that way it will wash out if you dont like it and you will have time to get the right permanent hair color. Not to mention that way it wont harm your hair. Good luck.

Loreal Feria is the best. It times out after a certain time, so you don't have to keep checking. It eliminates errors like that. I have thick hair, so I use 2 boxes. It might help if you have a friend help you for the first time, it's easier for someone else to see all the spots on your head. Good luck!

see the thing with hair is that if it is all one color it doesnt look natural. so dying darker, wont give it a natural look, but it may be the look you are going for as far as being different. I always use boxed dye if i do it myself, and only if i do my whole head. otherwise for you hair i would suggest highlights, with blonde, and carmel color.

My reaction for your question will probably disappoint you. although hairdressers and cosmetics vendors ought to like you to believe otherwise, mostly the chemical substances used to dye hair are adverse to the structural integrity of the hair shaft. techniques you could carry mutually in this remember from those with a vested pastime will probably inform you that demise hair is a chance free procedure. you should probably get in the route of the fact in case you've been to pose your question to a respected dermatologist. Hair dye ought to upload synthetic pigment with techniques from a attitude to oxidation, or it get rid of organic pigment , suggested as relief, from the hair. even as specialist hairdresser, makes use of this procedure, the wear is amazingly minimum, virtually not some thing. even as the hair is broken above 30%, the wear will become more advantageous vast. more advantageous chemical, more advantageous damage.

the box works fine. you just have to be patient and have plenty of time. a lot of my friends effed up their hair because they were rushing through it and didnt get all of it in. if u have long or thick hair get a second box just i case. it wont look exactly like if u get it done professionally but itll look good

I think your hair looks great. If you go darker and you don't like it you will have to wait for it to fade or grow out.
