You should call your local petstore or vet office where you plan to vaccinate/fix your cat to see when's the earliest time they can do that for you. We got our current kitty fixed at a very young age as I didn't want to chance that happening to her. She was the only one born of her Mom's first litter. We use to let the Mom go outside. The Mom was given to me by an old roommate who got her as a stray. I couldn't train the Mom to stop trying to run out of the apartment because she had lived as a stray & had catting around outside in her blood. She was a fairly young cat, around 6-8 months ? but still too old (& probably too young of cat!) to want to change her wild ways. Her first baby, the only cat I have now, was easy to train the way I wanted as I had her from birth. She minds well & will not try to run/force her way outside. Won't jump on anything we trained her not to. She likes to eat tape or if there's ribbon or something that makes that crinkling noise. HA! They have those toys with the crinkley ribbon strips. If they get loose she'll try to chew 'em all up, swallow 'em & eventually hairball them up! But if we catch her & just tell her no & to stop, she will. She minds quickly & better than our 4 & 5 year olds! HA HA Have fun with your new little kitten! They are such great entertainment, lots better to watch then junk on TV, & great companions to take care of! :) Is this your first cat? I don't recall when we had her fixed as it was 8 years ago. Is it around 4 months old?
I called when she was a younger kitten than yours & got that lined up when to take her in. ~Recommended shots & neutering! :) Plus, it is very good to keep them as indoor kitties, only! They will stay healthier & safe! I like to buy Purina Cat Chow Indoor Formula for my cat. Purina has good Kitten Food Formula for your kittens, then slowly make the switch to Cat Food Formula when they get older. Have Fun! :) And what did you name your new kitty? :)

My vet told me females can go into heat as early as four months old. She said not to let Izzy outdoors unaccompanied unless I wanted a 'teenage pregnancy' on my hands. And she said that if my kitty was in heat, we'd know about it because she'd start to act really weird!
Some vets do spaying very early (when the kitten is 5 or 6 weeks old) so if you're really worried about it maybe you should call your vet and find out if he'd spay your kitten already.

I have heard that they can get pg at about 3 months old! And, they can be fixed as early as 2 months old! I wouldn't wait that long to get her fixed! I know that our male kitten, who is now 5 1/2 months old, didn't know what it meant to 'mess around' with a female cat in heat. But, we got him fixed just the same.

First of all, kittens that young should not be left outside, and I highly doubt that the male kitten is only one month old.If he was,he would still be nursing from his mother, not playing with a larger kitten. But,no,your kitten can't get pregnant until she's about 5-6 months old. You(and your neighbor) need to make arrangements to have both kittens fully vaccinated and then have them fixed in a few months.Male kittens are slower to reach sexual maturity(usually at about 9 months),so you are safe for now,but if the kittens aren't vaccinated, they could catch a variety of cat viruses, which are often fatal to kittens. You are better off keeping them indoors.

Cats go into their first heat between 5 to 6 month of age. And as soon as this happens they are ripe for pregnancy right now you should be fine. Just make sure you get her fixed in the next couple of months. With a male cat that close by you don't want to risk it!

They usually aren't able, until around 6 months.
Remember, kittens can be fixed as early as when they are 2 months old and weigh 2lbs.

According to my vet friend, usually the tissue around the vaginal of a cat gets matured when it is 12~16 months old. But it really depends on the species. Consult your vet for more information.

Not sure but our avatars are twins!
I wouldn't let them out of your sight. I just read another question from someone who's less-than-one-year-old cat had a kitten.
