No its not weird and definatly not unusual to dress your dog up!
I have quite a few sweaters for my dog and she likes to wear them when its cool outside but she will bite at them and try to take them off during warmer wheather.
I would say let your dog decide whats right for her and don't worry about whether or not other people like it or not!
Just my opinion.

I think it depends on what type of dressing up you do. My dog wears boots and a "jacket" when he goes outside in the winter because he's got a very thin coat, and almost no body fat, causing him to shiver when it gets below 55 or so. I think that is perfectly normal (although many people laugh at his rug and boots). I think it's weird to put them in shirts, dresses, "necklaces" etc like the toy dog owners tend to do.

I have 5 chihuahuas that I dress up all the time, mainly because it keeps them warm, but also because I think they look adorable in different outfits. They have some really cute ones. They love it! I don't think it's weird at all. Go for it!

It depends on what you plan on dressing it up in. If a sweater and boots is your choice then that is fine. However, if fishnet stockings and spiked boots is your choice then I would think twice.Seriously though as long as the dog doesn't mind being dressed up, I see no problem with it.

My dog has her own closet. She os spoiled rotten. She loves dressing up with jewlery, shoes, sweaters, christmas outfits, halloween costumes and etc. Make sure your dog is not disturbed or allergic to some of the material.
Hope this hepedâ¥Nessa

As someone else said "it depends on the dog" I dress up my min-pin in sweaters during the winter so she doesn't get cold but I would never put a sweater on my collie.

no. to me, though, it seems more cute for small pups. if large dogs do it i dont find it as cute. im not saying i dont like large dogs. i love them!! i have one myself, but the dressing-up for dogs is more of a small dog thing

It depends on the dog. My beagle just loves outfits. She'll go get her little sweater from the shelf and bring it to me, like she's asking me to put it on her.
My basset hound, on the other hand, can't stand to have anything on her. She barely tolerates her collar.
