I have shiny, thin, straight, long, black hair. I'm so bored with it and would like to have a new look. I would like to have a permanent wavy or semi curly hair. My friends told me it would be better if I just use curling irons but it will be a lot of work if I do that everyday plus I'm not good in using curling irons. They are also saying permanent curls don't have the same results as good as curling iron does. What should I do? Could you also give me some good pictures or semi curly or wavy hair? Thanks

Can you provide a link of a good wavy hair picture?

I wouldn't get a perm just because they're not good for the hair. The hair becomes dried out, it breaks (split ends), thins out, etc. So, if you ocassionally want to switch up your straight look, then I'd say going the extra steps with a curling iron style is better. It's worth it! Plus, you'd probably eventually miss your straight hair and the perm is obviously permanent and you'd get sick of the curls.

I would not get the permanent curls. Because I did that before a got a perm that made my hair look curly, But then I ended up getting tired of it, and since it was curly it wouldnt straighten good, So I would stick with straight hair, and use the curler if you must!

I have the same kind of hair as you. A perm would be ok if you got a light wave. Don't go for a tight curl because you'll look like a poodle and nobody wants that. Maybe have a friend curl your hair to see if you like it before jumping into a permanent.

I wouldn't put any chemicals in your hair (i.e. perm) just to get some curls. They damage your hair and rarely come out the way you want. I'd either go with the curling iron idea or buy some big rollers that you can wear overnight...sleep on them and you'll have curls in the morning...just remember to get bigger rollers for bigger curls. It really made my hair bouncy and awesome when I used them.

Get a loose perm. Then you won't have to mess around with all the curling irons and such.

If you get a perm use big rods so your hair will not be too curly but still have a little texture

semi-curl........a little bit, but not too much...some women just go way overboard with a perm....might want to try some purplish highlights; again, not to bright....and with a little bit of wave
