Hi Mandy...sometimes kittens need a little help with litter box habits with retraining. A large home/apartment can be overwhelming for a young kitten to make it back to the box in time. Consider confining him into a smaller room with his litter box with food, water, bedding, toys for a short while until he becomes consistent with using the litter box. Be sure to clean the box frequently to help encourage him to use it. No one likes to use stinky/dirty bathrooms and this is no different for young kittens.

Enclose him in a bathroom, with a litterbox (that way he doesn't mess elsewhere in your house). When you go in to feed him, clean up and put his poop in the litter box, if he goes outside of it. He'll eventually catch on, that the litter box is where you want him to go.

I'm curious on why he's not litterboxed already? That's something they usually learn as small kittens, from their mother (or other cats).

wow... that is very strange. cats are known to clean after themselves
but if he is a young boy kitty, what can i say...
direct the kitty where the litter box is and sort of explain -try to explain as kitti-ishly as you can- to ur cat and since cats are intelligent animals, they shuold adopt themselves sooner or later.
