Just one chile pepper generally contains more vitamin c than an orange. They are actually beneficial to the entire digestion process. They are very healthy.

You'd have to have other ailments or predispostions to ailments, I would think, in order to eat so much spicy food that it ruins your digestion and/or health!

And there is something to be said for being used to heat and spiciness. If you're not used to it... build up to it, don't just go for the gusto at one meal!

Here on the southern border we wouldn't think of eating certain foods without chile in them. But I do have a sister in law that considers black pepper to be like fire!

Spicy food can be good for you in certain ways. If you need to clear your sinuses or just sweat, spicy food is right up your alley. However, it is not good for the stomach, as it can irritate it. Also, too much spicy food at one time can irritate your colon as well, hence the burning sensation when you poop. After years of eating very spicy food very often has torn my stomach up and now have to take medicine and eat bland food.

Lots of spicy foods have ingredients containing lots of antioxidants, so that part is good. They can irritate the lining of your stomach if it's sensitve, so that could be a negative factor. On the whole, it's a question of flavor and preference, and not so much of healthy or unhealthy food.

I think so. It burns the mucus out of your system. It is not good for you if you have stomach problems like ulcers.

It will eventually make it so you can't taste things like you could before....kinda like the 'lite' touch of taste would need more to taste to be able to tast what you were tasting. Tastefull?
And...your gutts will become soup...go from there.
But, I gots to admit....some of that spicayyy sure is good!
