I nurse for a living and I get up every morning at 5 am and work from 7 to about 8 or 9 pm. I cannot risk being drunk at work tommorrow. Would a shot of Vodka or a single shot of Jim Beam be out of my system tommorrow by work time.

Yes, you'd be completely sober by morning. No offense, but you're a nurse and you don't know this?

Personally, I prefer a shot of Nyquil to a shot of liquor to help me sleep. It does make me groggy in the morning, though. I also take ambien sometimes, but that is some goofy stuff. I don't like it.

Try deep breaths. Do ten and count each exhale. Or try some chamomile tea. Or Valerian root. Don't drink with a purpose in mind, especially something that you do everyday, like sleep. Turn you into a drunk, that would.

Do a half-shot. That's all you need to relax.

Drinking prior to sleeping disrupts sleep. You will feel worse the next day, more tired.

A halfshot should be ok though.

i'm not sure, but i'm pretty sure most alcohol doesn't help you sleep, and if it does, then it's not decent sleep..it messes it up..which just means your gonna be knackered tomorrow..

you'd be better with a hot chocolate to be honest. LOL

Try turkey or warm milk. Booze actually insures you may think you slept well, but you didn't.
