I know there are many type of Internet Security program available today. But, they use too much RAM (high RAM consumption). My computer cannot afford. I had collected some Internet Security information, need review from other.

Information I collected are as below:
1. Norton Internet Security 2007 (high RAM consumption)
2. AVG Internet Security 7.5 (medium RAM consumption)
3. NOD32 (low RAM consumption)
4. TrendMicro PC-Cillin Internet Security 2007 (unknown RAM consumption)
5. ZoneAlarm Internet Security (unknown RAM consumption)

I need review from other. Thank you.

I use AVG along with windows defender. You can download defender for free from http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Although AVG will no longer be providing a FREE version for consumers, so a switch to nod32 may be a good move.

If you are using a router, this should be ample protection from outside intruders. Router does not reveal the IP address of your computer to the outside world.

Along with good web surfing practice you should be just fine!

Oh.. an do not forget those Windows updates.

Cheers!

NOD32 has won multiple awards and is a fast, small profile program that doesn't use a lot of resources and stays out of the way. AVG would be my second choice, but it's not as effective in stopping baddies as NOD32.

For a firewall that uses up very few resources, you might want to try Tiny Firewall Personal.

No Internet Security Suite can provide 100% security, but I think ZoneAlarm would be suit enough for you. I use it myself and I feel fine. Don't forget to update the patch from microsoft and antivirus program you use..

I used avast for a bit, until Windows OneCare released a beta version that works with Vista RC2. It's pretty slick, but I wasn't able to find a way to get the free version to do automatic scans. From what I read, it's supposed to be possible...I just didn't have the time to figure it out.
