I feel so sorry for you! I hate it when they do that.
I got my puppy from a pet shop - she was only 5 weeks old and had been there nearly a week. She was the runt and wasn't getting much food. The bigger pups would eat it first.
I bought her and Mum said yes, but after a while she changed her mind, Tiff was only 6 weeks old then. Mum got a box and was gonna take her back but i picked up tiff and ran to the end of our property.(it's 2 1/2 acres long) and I refused to let her take her back. I even climbed a treee with tiff in my arms and refused to come down. Then I went to my friends place with her. I only came back at about 6:00pm when the shop was closed. next day same thing happened, but then mum gave up and let me keep her cause all my friends came over and stood up for me!
(GO MY FRIENDS!)
If u want to see Tiff now go to;

Friend,
Why does your dad won't to get rid of the dog?
Sometimes things happen in life that we cannot control. I guess when were younger we cannot decide the decisions of the house. I think you should find ways you can take the burden of looking after the dog from your dad's shoulders to yours. Get him to realise that you will walk the dog and feed him ect. See if this works. I feel really sorry for you - a bond between you and your dog must be very strong. Ask your dad why he wants to do this and then try to come to an agreement.

Why does your dad want to get rid of Sadie? Is she old and sick? If not, try to keep you dad from getting rid of her. Tell him that she is your friend and that you need her emotionally. Do you take the responsibility of caring for Sadie? I hope so. Perhaps you could make a deal with your dad, promising to do certain jobs around the house if he doesn't get rid of her.

Is your dog old and sick? If so, it would be an act of kindness, as we usually don't have ways to effectively treat old dogs, and it isn't fair to keep them alive if they are suffering. If he is getting rid of her out of spite, or some other reason, I am very sorry for that. What would become of you is actually up to you. When I was a teenager, my parents split up, and I had to keep my German Shepherd at my brothers place, some kilometres away, which almost drove the poor gal nuts, and one day, when my brother was crossing the bridge near his home, he found my dog halfway across on her own, following my scent, as I had visited her that day. At that point my Mom gave my dog to some friends of hers and she went to a very loving and supportive home. It almost killed me at first, but I saw the wisdom of what my Mom had done later on. I still carry her in my heart, as she died some years later of canine leukaemia, and all I have are my memories, but they are good ones, and that is what I have.
I hope my story is some help to you, in that you will recover, and just try to remember the good times, OK.

truth? A part of you will die, and be lost..
you'll find another dog in this life, and pour your love into him/her, and that empty spot will be filled, almost healed over..
you and your dog will run the fields, walks the woods, and sit watching the sunsets.
When you cross over, you and your beloved angel will once again meet..
Found this once on the net:
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
askmeaboutdogs - your dog is adorable! Happy to find out that your friends came to help you stand your ground .. and that your mum came around.

awww... I'm sorry! Is there a reason why he wants to get rid of her? Have you tried talking to your dad? Telling him how you feel? I don't know what I would do without my dogs either! Good luck!

tell your dad about how you feel about your dog. also tell him that you were sad about the other dog, and it would make you even more depressed and upset if he gave away sadie. tell him how much she means to you and that shes like your best friend. be serious, and simpathetic or sad or sometin like that. he should agree to keep her then

um, i kno ppl get really close to their pets, but you have to remember that ur pets aren't ppl, they are ANIMALS.... So you'll probably be sad if she goes away, but remember your family is always more important
