There were no human on earth before Adam and Eve. They were said to be the first two humans ever created. They were the first lives on earth.

Adam & Eve story is allegorical.
2nd Century Church father Origen, whom was called the greaest Church father of all time, states: “What man of sense will agree with the statement that the first, second and third days in which the evening is named and the morning, were without sun, moon and stars, and the first day without a heaven. Well, if you believe in Adam and Eve, you got your information from the Bible, and the Bible says they are the first parents...the very first human beings.

I suppose there weren't any. At least in the bible. But you might check out the movie, Quest for Fire. Not very accurate, but Rae Dawn Chong's character came before Eve's.
