I have posted this interesting (to me at least) question in another catagory, and was given an opportunity to extend it for a few more days to others to have an opportunity to answer.

Given that we seem to be seeing less and less mannners being displayed by adults let alone children out there public, like covering our mouths when we yawn.

I have always wondered if there are any children out there still being taught basic manners these days. (and yes there are few children that do cover thier mouths to yawn, cough, etc.) I have seen a child as young as four/five year old covering a yawn.

So basically my question again is this, have you ever seen or know a very young child that does this display of good manners. I find it very cute to see a child doing this.

Thanks for reading this.

Not that young, but I also have seen a kid of 5 or so displaying these manners. I too find it sorrowful that children are no longer being taught basic manners. I am disturbed by the amount of adults who are too lazy or lack the manners to cover their mouth when coughing or hacking up a lung (apparent smokers).

I'm 25 and I don't cover my mouth when I yawn. My daughter who is 3 doesn't either. I can understand when one coughs you should cover your mouth, but as for yawning goes I don't see this is necessary.

My children are polite and have good manners.
I insist on it. Especially "please and thank you's". Table manners and the correct use of cutlery too.
I hate to see youngsters lacking. Parents need to get a grip.
Manners are very important. It teaches self discipline and respect.
