Kansas (Family relocated here in the 1800's pre-Civil War when Kansas was opened-up for settlement)
My Generation has served in both Iraq conflicts
Parent's generation fought in Vietnam
Grandparent's generation fought in Vietnam, Korea, & WWII
Great-Grandparent's generation fought in WWI
Great-Great-Grandparents generation fought in the Civil War (North)
Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfathers generation fought in the Revolution (US Navy & Army - Rhode Island Region (Davenport-Manning family))
There were others that fought in the War of 1812, the Spanish-Americans, etc but I forget which ones. My family has served in every single conflict in or for the US since before we became a nation. And yes, my family are members of the Sons and Daughters of the Revolution, etc.

My "old man"[australian] was in 2/15th Battalion,9th Division,2nd AIF and fought through the Middle East[he is one of the Rats of Tobruk} and the jungles of New Guinea and Borneo. He is still alive today and he lost his fingers at the Easter Battle in Tobruk in 1941.He is quite a character and while I may be biased he epitomises the Aussie Digger.Strong, silent and resourceful, slow to anger BUT DO NOT cross him!
