Is this the amount of calories a normal person should be eating everyday? Should I be eating only 2000 calories a day?

Your diet should be the amount you need to function. For some 2000 is more than enough. For those who are physically active in work and play more will be required. To my knowledge the 2000 number was what the surgeon general decided was the best for most americans. For more information it would be benificial to see a dietitian.

It is not possible to express the data for every situation possible without publishing a book. Also it facilitates a person calculating his own needs.

No. It depends on your age, size, activities etc. Mine should be around 1400 only.
