Hi,

I would just like to know if it is possible to import an illegal knife (balisong) into Canada if you are a military personnel. If so, what are the steps to clear the package through customs?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

No.

A Canadian soldier is not above the law in any way shape or form, unless it comes to the driving of DND vehicles, in which case your 404's are a valid driver's liscence but only for the vehicles you have qualified on.

If anything, as a member of the Canadian Forces, you are held at a higher standard than anyone else when it comes to being a good law-abiding citizen. Weapons offences are things that we definitely do not stand for.

Sorry mate.

No, you are subject to the same rules as the rest of the citizens, regardless of whether you are in the Military or not. As a matter of fact, you could face a Dishonourable discharge if you do break the law in this way.

Josh, if your talking for commercial purposes, i would strongly suggest, you talk to the Imports Branch of Canadian Customs and Boarder Control.
