I'm not sure what I am going to do when I get there. I was trying to download Directx & it told me I need to look at dxerror.log & diretx.log in my windows folder. Any suggestions on why?

It's a folder with all the windows files, users, temporary files, lots of stuff.
To find it , double click my computer, double click c drive.
Or open windows explorer, you should be able to see the folder, if not click the + beside c:
Look at the log files to determine why directx failed to install. Expand the windows folder by clicking the +. Scroll down to the directx folder, click on it, in the right hand panel find the two log files. Right click the log file, chose open with(if open isn't an option, if open is an option use it, and disregard the rest of this sentence), a box will appear, chose notepad(make sure to uncheck the "always use" box), you may get a question about using wordpad instead, say yes.
Look through the log to see you can see what happened to your download.

If you are using xp, you may have to be log in as an adminstrator or a user with administrater rights, to install software/downloads.

Right click on "start" and select "explore." That is your complete file system. It should be under "Local Drive C:" probably under winnt or something like that. Depends on what operating system you have. Windows 2000 is "winnt"
Good Luck
p.s. Be careful, tho, you don't want to delete anything from the system folders.

RIGHT click on the Start button, choose Explore. Windows Explorer will open up, you will see your C-drive, and folders underneath one of them is Windows. Chow
