Don't like cities, don't like crowds, don't like noisy traffic, don't like rude people, don't like the way cities smell...

I do like... knowing who my neighbors are, fresh water, country air, watching wildlife, watching my "animal children" grow up and getting to know their personalities, the smell of fresh worked soil, the smell of fresh cut hay, the smell of a fresh rain, the taste of fresh picked corn, tomatoes, carrots, and all the things we grow, the taste of fresh caught fish from the pond, the knowledge of where and how my crops are raised, the knowledge of what is REALLY IN my grass raised beef, pork and sheep and what is NOT! the absence of all the "don't likes" above! Best of all... The knowledge that if all the grocery stores would close tomorrow, I can still feed my self and my family for a very very long time.

Having money can make life easier but money can make life more complicated too. I would like to have more money but I am not willing to trade my "likes" for the list of "Don't likes." I would rather live in a "tar paper shack" and keep my farming ways than to live in town with a Million Dollars in my pocket!

It is a matter of chosing what you want out of life rather than what you (think) you need. Why do you need a new car? A new house, new video game, new cell phone, trendy clothes etc...??? It is not out of necessity it is out of want...

Maybe because this is what their family did many years ago. I live in Pennsylvania Dutch country, and there are lots of farms here. When I lived in Utah, I knew some people who were dairy farmers, and it surprised me how they wouldn't use the milk the got from their cows because it would take from their profit. Then again, milk was pretty cheap in that state. One of the few places I know where milk is advertised in the supermarket flyer.
