This guy asked me to a dance. But, I'm not sure if he wants to get romantically involved too. We talk a lot. And e-mail a lot. And, I told him he could back out if he wanted and he said that's not an option. And, I asked him why me and not some prettier girl who goes to our school...I'm average looking, and he came up with a paragraph of reasons. Do u think he wants more that just to go to a dance? Should I ask him if he wants more, or just wait and see?

+ Go and have fun and see what happens. Don't have high expectations and you may get pleasantly surprised, but at the worst case you will go and have a fun time. Whats wrong with that?

Why must females fret over such trivial things. Why don't you first go to the dance and see what develops from there instead of fretting over it. That's not healthy to constantly worry over such trivial things. Just to put your mind at ease, some guys may not have chemistry with the prettiest girl in the room so go with it. If he likes you, he just does. There is no underlying meaning or reasons why. It's not a mystery.

Just because you consider yourself average looking doesn't mean all guys do as well. I absolutely adore average girl next door types. They're cute as the bees' knees.

Wait and see. BTW - I wouldn't go to a dance unless I wanted to impress someone. I would say he likes you.

Why don't you try and go on a few dates before the dance to see if you guys have any chemistry and to see if he does like you like that. It might go over better than just flat out asking him.

have some confidence first , doesn't sound like you are a pity date. Go to the dance and have the best time with him, don't say negative comments like you have prior. let him know you are a confident young woman with alot to offer. nobody likes a whiner. See how the night goes, you'll know if it is going to go further or not. Have and blast and keep your head up

Wait and don't act too ready or needy. But, don't act like you don't have any interest either.
