While you are still serving in a combat zone you just have to shut it out. Become a kind of robot. If you can't, then you won't be functioning at 100% and that could be dangerous for both you and others. Don't close your eyes for God's sake. Do you have some kind of counsellor/padre you can talk to? How about some of the older guys?
After you get home you should start to forget, or rather you won't be remembering so often. It's something similar to grieving after somebody close dies.

well i would say that its good that u feel something 4 the ppl that u kill. if u didn't feel anything at all then that would make u cold blooded.as to ur ? though I'm not really sure how to help u. other then by saying ty 4 all that u have had to do and give up 4 us. i know that doesn't make it any better but i think that if i were in ur shoes i would rather feel something 4 the ppls lives that i took then nothing at all. i hope that u can find a way to cope with what ur doing.
best wishes Carly

You need a leave. This is not the job for you... There are many jobs that you can have in the Army that are not on the front lines. You have to stop and talk to your commander about this. Just because you can't take it anymore does not make you less of a man. If you continue to do this you may find yourself drawn into a shell that you may never break out of. This is your life and happiness we are talking about here. Sometimes you have to come first.
God Bless you and keep you safe.

No there is absolutely nothing you can do to make it easier. I am sorry, but it is really really messed up. My husband is deployed and thank god he hasn't had to take someone's life yet. I think that has serious psychological reprocussions unless the person is already messed up to begin with.
You are trained to do what you do. It would be different if you went around killing innocent Iraqis, like that one Army soldier in the news did. As long as you kill who and when you are supposed to, don't worry. You never know what those people could come back to do to you or any soldier, marine, etc.!

Even though you don't sound the slightest bit serious, I think it's a good time for me to point out that some people have to live with this guilt their entire lives. If it was them, themselves that willingly signed up to go to war, then that's your own problem and your own fault. What can I say - You really shouldn't have. People get screwed up from killing other human beings, simply because it's disgusting. Looks like you're in way over your head, champ.

Hi Army Sodier-an !!!!
That is terrible!!!! Start praying, ask GOD for forgiveness. You don't have a minute to waste, on this one.
Can you just make some noise, piont somewhere else???
Make believe your shooting??
I don't know how this works, but I would like to know if this people also have weapons or you are shooting them because they are there!!!
I'm going to try to ease your pain a little, by saying that if you are at war, that is what is expected. And that if you are actually shooting and killing for self defense, then that would be the
natural reaction of anyone with a weapon!!! I guess.
You don't say where are you or under which conditions you are forced to do this. But if it helps, if you are at war trying for this people not to kill you or us, then I THANK YOU, for what you are doing!!!!
Not for the actual killing of course!!! But for defending you, us and the rest of who ever is involved!!!
Do not blame yourself, because you are not to blame . Instead blame the negative forces of this universe.
You see, I'm a Christian, and as a Christian I know that even In heavens there was a war. That's how Satan end up in this world in the first place!!!
So this is a long story and we are all at fault!!!! You might be the one that is pulling the trigger, but there are a lot of us around the world, that instead of guide us by GOD's word, we had guided by Satan's, making all of you out there do the dirty job.
Please, don't be so hard on yourself, GOD knows what you have in your heart. As long as you keep your heart clean and straight with THE LORD, under this conditions, I'm pretty sure He will forgive you!!! Plus your not in any position like to say , O.K., I'm gone!!! All of this in the bible, and it is going to get worst. Not to make you feel bad, is actually to let you know that all is this is already written. And it has to happen either is you or me or anybody else!!!
Don't worry GOD will punish those that are doing this to all of us!!! IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT !!!! BELIEVE!!!!!
Do you have a bible??? Get one and read The last book!!!
So don't go crazy, stay in touch with reality, which has another name, GOD, JESUS and THE HOLY SPIRIT, Amen.
I'm going to go even further, with this because you havd touched my heart!!!!! If I would be there, I'll choose to defend nyself too!!! And anybody that would say the contrary will be hipocrits!!!!
My prayers are with all of you out there, and give your heart to JESUS, HE will help you through this!!!
GOD BLESS YOU !!! HAVE A SAVE RETURN !!!
Remember, GOD LOVES YOU, PRAY!!!!

It is a miracle you made it through basic training, let alone all the technical schools/ motivationals. Look forward to your next assignment = permanent disability in a veteran's hospital.
Expect a care package at Christmas.

Either try to get out of the army or ask for transfer to a desk job. Tell them that, regardless of their attempts at "numbing you," you still feel too much. That makes you a risk for them to have on the front lines. They know that, and if you say that you don't want to be a detriment to your troops, you may actually get what you ask for.
Good luck be with you.
