We armed Saddam in the 80s, so we have no moral credibility.

What do you make of that argument?

The Iraq war was a huge mistake. There is no question about this. I actually set up a protest against the war in Dec. 2003. However, once we (the USA) broke the country we had the obligation to put it back together. For some reason it doesn't seem like the military/white house planned for the post-invasion part of the war at all - which is a huge mistake. Two guys that I grew up with both died thanks to the Iraq war. I can't stand the idea that these kids (they were 19 when they died) gave their lives for nothing. They are only two out of thousands of casualties of this war - and I think we owe it to them to slog through and fight it out until the Iraq government asks us to leave and we can at least say we accomplished something.... anything.

That's basicly how I am conflicted about being anti/pro Iraq war.

The U.S. made a mistake in arming Saddam... but we are not to blame for him changing face and there is no way you can ever truely know what one person will do. When we realized he was abusing his power we stopped him in Kosovo in the Iraqi War in the 90's.
