Does the Bible tell you to fix your past before God forgives you?

No, you do not have to fix your past. It says in the Bible that when you ask God for forgiveness the sin is totally forgotten by Him. Just ask for forgiveness, what you did in the past is in the past......focus on your present and your future. But, you must ask for forgiveness with honesty and sincerity.........ask it like you mean it.........dont just ask because you feel you have to. He is a forgiving God.......always remember that!!!! Hope this helps!

If there are things you can fix then do so. Example, mend a broken relationship. But the important thing is to take all of it to Jesus and lay it at His feet, ask for forgiveness and help to live pleasing to Him. God Bless, we have all had to do this at one time or another. Run to Jesus when you sin, not away from Him. It may hurt or make you feel uncomfortable but at least He will clean you up.

when you give your life to christ, you are no longer in charge, so you can't fix anything-you never could. just ask for sincere forgiveness and he'll throw it into the sea of forgetfulness. Now once you confess he's the head of your life-the real war begins for your soul. the biggest trick satan ever pulls is making people believe he does not exist. no matter what you have done when you are willing to change for the better god IS there and has always been. our God doesn't force you to do anything but there is always warning before destruction. Lord whatever your will for this person's life i pray you keep them in the name of jesus, and give your angel's charge over thee. faith is what we can't see and it moves God.

No you do not. All you have to do for God to forgive you is to accept and believe in the forgiveness that Jesus purchased for you when He gave His life in exchange for our sins. There's NOTHING God cannot or will not forgive. Be blessed!

Wow that is a good question. Well alot of things from our past cannot be fixed. So from this point on work on the rest of your life to improve on what will come.

Jesus suffered and died so that our sins, yours and mine, are paid for. To be forgiven you need to believe that Jesus died for you and accept this gift from God. To accept this gift you just need to pray, (talk to God) and tell Him that you believe, ask Him for forgiveness, and accept that gift.

Find someone who not only believes this but whose life demonstrates that they have a relationship with Jesus. You will need to learn from someone who walks with God.

I feel I should mention that forgiveness does not erase it as far as results go. There will still be consequences for your actions, but your relationship with God does not have to be hindered by your past.

Being forgiven "fixes" your past.......then it's left up to you to keep it "fixed"....meaning not to look back on your mistakes, but to merely not make them again...God forgives you easier for your mistakes than you sometimes can....lol.....

No - just ask for forgiveness through Jesus - and ask to be shown how to change your life for the better.
