This isnt ment to offend anyone, its actually kind of a serious question. The reason is because ive always struggled with the holy trinity concept. Its sort of 1 being that is made up of three separate identities. I heard in church the other day, however, that no one knows when the apocalypse will come, theres no way to predict it so we shouldnt even try. Then the priest read from the bible and the scripture said that only God knows when the end day will come and only God, not even the son knows when it will come. That seemed like an interesting piece of scripture to me. Tell me what you guys think?

Answer: God the Father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus are One. Think of Water. You get the liquid form, you have ice when its frozen and when it is heated it turns into vapor. Three form to perform three function.
Man was created in the likeness of God. We have a spirit (the Holy Spirit) and Body (Jesus) and a soul (the Father). It is One God who shows Himself in three ways. He is Omnipresent, omniscient and omnipowerful.
Did that help?

Hummm, interesting question...especially if you try to take the belief in the TRIUNE GOD completely literally (and the gospels/bible literally). In traditional christian beliefs, God the Father (known as Yahweh in the Old Testament), God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit are all equal and each of the three knows what the other two are thinking/doing/ect. because they are one being. In the scripture reading you are refering to, Jesus, at that time was technically mortal and as such could not know when the end times would come. If you believe that the gospel should be taken literally, then you have a problem. If you believe that the gospels were simply stories written down decades after Jesus lived and that many of his teachings were misquoted, etc, then you have a simple case of misunderstanding. Jesus never called himself the Son of God...that title was given to him by others. He referred to himself as the "Son of Man", an ancient title first used by the prophet Isiah to describe the "messiah" the "chosen one" of the Hebrew people.

I believe when Christ was on the earth, and way back when that scripture was written, he did not know when the Second Coming would be. I'm willing to bet that he knows now, since he has returned to the Father as a perfected being, and has inherited all the Father has, including wisdom and knowledge. And since God, Christ and the Holy Spirit operate together (but are three separate and distinct beings), perhaps the Holy Ghost is also aware of timing for upcoming events.

Jesus said in the book of John chapter 14 verse 28, You heard that I said to you, I am going away and I am coming back to you, If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.
Jehovah God is Greater than His Son Jesus.

God had power over Jesus but, Jesus had no power over God. God deprived his son of a free life in order to further his own agenda. Jesus showed his unhappiness with his father when on the cross he said, "Father why have you forsaken me (can't we talk this over). Most say that the end of days will come when the wrong people get the "Islamic Bomb". Scripture says nothing about the end of days being caused by religions that are based on God who can't see eye to eye but it.s becoming more and more likely

The Father God, knows the end of days. Jesus and the Father have the same power. Each had their hand in creation and the plan of salvation for man. Now don't forget the Holy Spirit, who is your comforter and guide.

Neither is more powerful than the other. God is Jesus, and Jesus is God. God knows all that Jesus knows, and Jesus knows all that God knows. What i think that passage is doing, when it says not even the Son knows, is try to emphisis it's point. As far as the trinity goes, no human has the wisdom to understand that completely. We may understand it when we get to heaven, and we may not. Either way, all Christians believe in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and everything about them, by faith. I pray that you are a believer, and that i will meet you in Heaven one day.

There is only ONE God; He has revealed that He eternally exists as three "Persons".

The three Persons of the Godhead are co-equal.

When Jesus became Incarnate, He laid aside some of His prerogatives of the Godhead so that He could manifest His humanity.

And so, before His Crucifixion, He said that no one knows the date of His return, not even Himself, but the Father only.

However, after His resurrection, He told His disciples it was not for THEM to know. No longer did He say that He did not know. It would seem that in and after His resurrection He was again exercising all of His Godhead fully.

God is more powerful beacause he controls the armies and likes to kill people. How can the love of Jesus stand up against the cruelty of the father? Or maybe, over time, water carves away at rock, so perhaps in the end love will prevail over the heinous monster called God.

Well maybe you are starting to be guided, God made Jesus Son of Mary, in a miraculous way.

[066:012] And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of 'Imrân who guarded her chastity. And We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Rûh [i.e. Jibrâîl (Gabriel)], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [i.e. believed in the Words of God: "Be!" – and he was; that is 'Îsâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) as a Messenger of God], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qanitûn (i.e. obedient to God).

005:072] Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "God is the Messiah ['Îsâ (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah ['Îsâ (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship God, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with God, then God has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) there are no helpers.

[005:073] Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "God is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no Ilâh (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilâh (God God). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them.

[005:074] Will they not turn with repentance to God and ask His forgiveness? For God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[005:075] The Messiah ['Îsâ (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary), was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Maryam (Mary)] was a Siddîqah [i.e. she believed in the Words of God and His Books (see Verse 66:12)]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while God does not eat). Look how We make the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them; yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).

[005:076] Say (O Muhammad [Peace be upon him] to mankind): "How do you worship besides God something which has no power either to harm or benefit you? But it is God Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower."

I can't guide you, I can only show you what I have from God.

Good Day :D
