Why did General Moshe Dayan tell His Men to lower the Star Of David?

To my Jewish Friends.Why did General Mosh Dayan have His soldiers lower the Star Of David flag after Israel had defeated the
Arabs in six Day War.? The Flag over (Temple Mount)

probably for the same reason all countries do... to remember the people who died in the war. lowering flags is a universal sign of grief.
