Just like the internet, it is not dangerous unless you don't know what you are doing. Download the wrong file that contains a virus, your computer can get hosed. Use Limewire carefully and responsibly, you won't have a problem other than from the RIAA.

No, but as long as you are uploading data, your internet connection will slow down. Limewire also takes up a lot of RAM.
