I Corinthians 1:10-13 (KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11For it hath been reported unto me about you, my brethren, by those who are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 12Now this I say, when every one of you saith, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ": 13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

No.... There is only One True Church and that is The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head.... you have stated the correct Scripture... however mankind is subject to ego, greed, and pride... The "Iam and you aint" syndrom...as long as that is the case there will be divisions...

Well the apostles were divided from the start so that explains it. The NT touches on it but certain other scriptures are very clear about it. So this is why the NT Jesus is walking contradiction. You basically have Paul against all the rest (especially Peter). Do you know what Paul is referring to when he says “another gospel”? It’s basically the doctrines of the synoptic gospels. What he was fighting against ended up being the NT. And they corrupted his writings too. That’s why Paul contradicts the gospels and even himself. So, you can make the NT say anything you want, hence all the denominations.

Jesus healed one blind man just by speaking the words "be healed" to him; another blind man he healed by applying mud to the blind eyes.
Those who saw these things .... I've been told this might be how the first two denominations arose. The mud-ites and the non-mud-ites.
Ideally we should all be one ... and perhaps will in heaven.
But if we all can agree on the Essentials concerning the Person & Work of Christ ... if we have a similar Christology ... then we might still have denominations because of differing forms of church government ... episcopal, presbyterial, etc.

I think it's sad that there is so much division, but there's not really a whole lot that can be done. Some denominations just focus more on some parts of the Bible than others, and some contradict things that other denominations accept.

unity is best and we do for the most part, have that. there are some denom's that turned from truth and have created a religion in the name of Jesus. But lets face it, there were issues back when Paul was here, that is why he wrote all those letters. Some day we will have 100% unity.

I really not think they are scriptural, but, I am sure some will argue the matter. I think if a person is a Child of God, then that who they are and should read Mark 9:38-41.

It would be nice to have more letters from Paul to clear up the mess. in the meantime, I'm happy where I'm at. And one can be wrong on some things yet still have a saving faith.

You're right, though many protestants "pride" themselves on bieng "scriptural", where in the Bible does it saw how to live as a Southern Baptist, or Methodist? Christ did say no devisions, and He named Peter to lead His church; Peter has since been followed by his successors in the oldest organization on earth, the Catholic Church.

That is why I am a Christian first.I wish we could all be 1. But when you put men in religion.Well it can become a mess. One man thinks he is right and then another thinks he is right.
The truth is:
Jesus Christ
Son of God
Born of a Virgin
Crucified
Resurrected
Coming again
There is no other truth.<><

You answered your own question from the bible. However that being said we should not think of ourselves as seperate from one another just because our church bears a different name on it than the one down the street.
Same Lord same baptism in the spiritual sense. Keep the faith !!!
