when i try to change the channel I get AUX and Ch 01 how do i get the tv to work...i have cable...which isn't working, and i just bought some rabbit ears

There are two possibilities:
1) Press TV/video or video to make sure you are on the right input.
2) Most likely it is because your TV is looking for an antenna rather than a cable signal. Go into your setup menu of your TV and you should see a setting to change from antenna to cable. Then, you probably want to run it through an autoprogramming, so it can eliminate all the bad channels.
The 3rd possibility is maybe you don't have a cable subscription or your cable is out, but I doubt this is the case. If you were smart enough to get to this site and ask a question, there is no way you can overlook the 3rd possibility. :-)
