Well that depends, if the other in a relationship goes out and finds someone else and stays with them for a while and then comes back to you they are desperate. But if the other comes back rather quickly without anyone else from the time of the breakup they really do love you.

It is a two-way street for man or woman. And, once down that avenue it can be frightening so they turn around and head back to the familiar street that was recently departed.
So, part is the recognition of what one had, or plain old fear of the unknown can send them running back to the familiar. The third possibility is probably a combination of both.

It's like the old saying goes, "You don't know what you've got, unitl it's gone". Some guys just don't realize how good they had it until the relationship is over.
In my opinion, move on. If he didn't think you were worth it before, why would the relation last longer then the first time.

Some yes and some don't.
I realized that I love my ex-girlfriend so much after I broke up with her. Her parent's doesnt like me because I'm not a pure chinese but when I realized that she was the one I'll be living with and not her parent's it was already too late. She won't take me back that's why I have to move on with my life.

Well...
Personally I've made that mistake a few times... there are a couple I still regret from a long time ago.
If a guy comes back into your life, and admits making a mistake in letting you go... he means it. We don't like admitting mistakes.
So when we do it, we're generally sincere. We want you back.
Peace,
-dh

I've been down that road a few times. I guess it's a case of the "grass looking greener on the other side". Always thinking you can do better, when actually, you may have the best right in front of you but are too blind to see.

Yes, I think so. Usually guys don't think of why they wanted the girl and are keeping the girl in the first place; and how worth it the relationship is. But when the girl's gone, then they're alone and only have time to think about what they did wrong to push the girl away.

It is the old...the grass is greener on the other side syndrome...when you have a relationship, you think you could do better...wonder what you are missing...but when the relationship is over...you realize that you had what you wanted all along.

I think people just don't want to be alone. We waste so much time with the wrong people. 20 years from now we ask ourselves what was I thinking staying with him/her? We need to learn to be okay by ourselves before we can make someone else happy.

Sometimes, we don't realize what we have until it's gone. that's a very common mistake, if you take him back that's up to you
