While your question is phrased in terms of bi-sexuality, what is really being questioned is whether a person can successfully have be poly. There are tons of sites and information on the web about polyamoury and there are people who are able to conduct poly relationships happily. As a starter you could visit this site for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyamory An excellent book regarding poly issues is by Dossie Easton and Catherine A. Liszt called "The Ethical S**t: A Guide to Infinite Sexual Possibilities [I've had to put ** in that "s" word or else the message wouldn't go through.] Don't let the name put you off, the book is an excellent primer on poly issues.

Being bi-sexual usually means you date both men and women, and I guess if you're playing the field you can have a boyfriend and a girlfriend at the same time. Just be careful you don't get caught =P

Personaly, i don't beleive in bi you eather one or the other. I don't think it's society that make you chose, but nature it self. Having sexual encounters with both sex don't make you bi, just an adventures person. If a bi exist, it will be a person that can fall in love with man & woman, not just attrated to male of female. I do beleive that they are asexual person, a person that is not attracted to any and just try to function in the society. Society say that u have to be in love so some people try desperatly to "fall" in love , by any means necessary. Just to be IN,

If they are both (the "girlfriend" and the "boyfriend") okay with it, that's fine...however being bisexual doesn't give you license to cheat...typically bis are monogamous, they simply are attracted to (some) women and (some) men, thus have a potentially larger dating pool to choose from...

Even a bi person has to decide weather he or she wants a male or female mate ... you can not have your ice cream and cake and eat it too ... you got to make a choice!
