That kid would look like Mike Teevee after the taffy puller (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)...Of course there is something wrong, he is SEVERELY underweight.
My husband, at 16, was 6'5" and weighed about 150. He was a bean pole, totally skinny. He's now 6'7" and weighs about 225. He could probably gain another 15 lbs and still look good.

Yes, his son's weight is only about 1/3 or 1/4 what it should be. Actually, at the weight you said, the son should be dead. IF he's really alive he should be in a hospital being fed with a feeding tube and IVs.
Both your friend and his son need help. The friend should have intervened long before the son's weight got so low. He could be guilty of serious child neglect.

There is either something wrong with him, or with the specific information you've been provided with. I doubt it is possible for a 6'4 frame to weigh only 60 pounds and still manage to walk.

Wow!! Something has definitely got to be wrong, tell your friend to have him checked out. Does he eat? I am 5'4" and if I weighed 60 lbs I would look incredibly gross so I can only imagine what that must look like. I'm going to say a few prayers for your friend and her son, I hope he's alright. There is no way in hell that a 6'4 16 year old male weighs 60 pounds.. Even if he WAS anorexic.

6'4 and 60 lbs is seriously thin. I would think he would be so debilitated that he could barely get out of bed.
But if he is truly 60 lbs and is walking and talking he does need to see a doctor and nutritionist.

I cant even believe this to be true !! That is how rong that something is. Either he is being severly abused by your friend or else he has a severe eating disorder..this is seriously and literally concentration camp skinny, and the fact that you have to ask if there is something rong means you might be to stupid to know what a concentration camp is.
This boy is not far from death, if his guardian will not do somethign about this you NEED to call social services and get him placed somewhere or hosptialized or HE WILL DIE.

That is not a possiblity! Do you mean 160 lbs? My husband is 6'4" and weighs 200 lbs. and looks like a rail! Please tell her that he NEEDS help!!
