I was once told by an English man that he is a member of a group who believes that Joshua is the Massiahit might be "Joshua the high priest". I forgot the name of this sect. Does anybody know which church/sect this man belonged to? He was NOT Jewish, and he didn't refer to Jesus by other names - it was a different person. Thanks

Joshua: means in Hebrew, Yehoh shu'a, meaning Jehovah is Salvation
In the Septuagint the book is called I e sous' The Greek equivalent of Yehoh shu's and from this the name Jesus has been derived
Joshua was truly a splendid prophetic type of our Lord Jeus Christ Romans 5:1

Christianity.
The Greek name Jesus is Joshua, or J'Shua in Hebrew.
It sounds like the man may have a been a Messianic Jew.
They are a sect of Christian Jews that have accepted Jesus Christ as the true Messiah of Israel.

Joshua is actually the same name as Jesus.
In Hebrew it's Yeshua, in Greek it's Iesus.
It means " Jehova is salvation".
