there's not much you can do unfortunately except avoid having too much of those trigger foods, drink lots of water and the minute you feel a headache coming on take some medicine and relax somewhere quiet.

First of all, I feel for you honey! In response to one of the other answers; someone said that they take Sudafed at the beginning of the migraine. Sudafed is a decongestant and works for Sinus pain. It may be possible that some of her headaches are caused by Sinus as well. Usually caffiene is a good source to ease a migraine, but that seems to be a trigger for you. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and try to rest as soon as you feel them coming on if it is possible. You really should talk with your Doctor again to see if there are any medications that might be suited for you to help ease the pain and sick feeling you get. I get horrible migraines and what works for me, may not work for you. I have 3 different prescription medications plus caffiene works for me. Talk to your Doc. I'm sure there is something out there that can help you. Good luck to you.

My heart goes out to you because I used to suffer from migraines at your age. They're horrible! For me it turned out that my migraines were related to stress (change in daily routine) combined with allergies. As soon as I feel that 'pain' coming on now I immediately take two Sudafeds (get the ones that are behind the counter - the other ones don't work), a hot shower, and then go to sleep. Sometimes just taking the Sudafed stops them immediately. You could try this and see if it helps. I'm really sorry... I know how awful they are.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Yes,actually I would suggest trying Ultram. It's a non-narcotic prescription pain medicine. It's really good for headaches/migraines.Talk to your doctor about it.That's if you haven't already tried it.

I suffer from migranes...bad ones. Ask your Doctor about Topamax....commonly used as an anti-depressent, and use for migrane disorders.
