(I'm a girl)

Whenever I walk down the halls, I can't help but stare at the people walking pass me. It's not that all of them are attractive, they're just interesting. I kinda sound like a psycho right now! What can I do to stop this habit?

Yeah, I guess I'm a "deep" person...

Yes, Linda, that's why I'm asking this question!

There is a fine line between looking and staring. Hopefully, you just look at others you pass by, as any one would, which is completely natural. Especially if you're walking alone, it's normal to look at others who are walking by you. Just make sure you don't deliberately STARE at them. If you still think you're staring, then pre-occupy yourself with something else to look at- maybe study something for a test coming up later that day, if you can manage multi-tasking without tripping on a flight of stairs... a better option might be to observe your SCENERY rather than the people who walk by. Hopefully I helped. I doubt you're problem is too bad!

It's great that you are interested in people, but you are on target to think that you need to be able to control your eyes. There are situations where making eye contact or appearing overly interested will be seen as provocative. New York subways or the Tube in London are two situations where staring could cause problems. It's very useful to master that urban trick of looking through rather than at people, appearing deep in contemplation of the universe, and thus avoiding the scarier kinds of reciprocal attention.

Are you a deep person like you are just not staring perhaps checking them out, behavior, interaction. You could just be contemplating.
Now, it can become a problem if you crash into walls or poles. Perhaps you like people a humanitarian or want to know what makes people tick... who knows did I hit the spot?

I have the same problem. My friends brought it to my attention. I wasn't meaning to be rude or make anyone uncomfortable. I just like to people watch. I have made a concerted effort to be less obvious. I'm also a person that smiles, acknowledges or speaks to anyone I make contact with.I'm much more aware of it now and i'm getting better.Good luck,Merry Christmas!

Oh my God I had that problem too! I mean I was never trying to be rude or you know since it is wrong to stare. But the reason I did it was to see you know who was around me and who I had to watch out from my sorroundings. You know mostly because you know I just want to know whats up!

You should stop that, otherwise you gonna be in trouble in the future. How if you encounter someone who doesn't want to be stare and get back to you, what are you going to do then?

my friend totally does that! it is kinda awkward...hehe. try to think about something else that will keep you occupied so you won't have to listen or watch others. if they see you and get freaked out just smile, maybe even wave. It will be kinda weird but you'll seem nice

It's okay to be observant. I don't think you "stare" just to hate on people. Just don't make it so obvious and you are fine.
