What's so wrong with it? Like anything anyone says is likely to make you see it or change your behavior, right? I can tell you the physical effects, though. The stomach acids will gradually erode your esophageal lining, leading to ulcers of the lining and eventually cancerous changes. The stomach acids also eat away at your vocal cords, so you end up with that nice gravel voice you always wanted. The acid also erodes the enamel covering your teeth, leading to cavities. It eats away at the gingival tissues holding your teeth in place to start with, causing the gums to recede, and tooth loss due to gingivitis. Oh, and lets not forget the wonderful breath it will all give you. The electrolyte balance of the body is thrown off by the whole throwing up action, leaving you in a state of acidosis, wonderful for the kidneys, liver and heart. You will eventually make one beautifully thin corpse. The best way to make yourself throw up is a good case of e-coli, so go lick the toilet, that's always a fairly good source. Or you could stick to raw chicken, salmonella will also give you vomiting and diarrhea, and that's always good for a few pounds loss.
Seriously, you already know what's wrong with bulemia. You already know most of the answers you are going to get. When you are ready to stop the self destructive behaviors, there are plenty of people and places that can help you. Until then, well you are going to do what you do, regardless of the well meaning people here and their caring advice.

Alright, I'm guessing most people here have never been bulimic. I've been there, done that. I started being bulimic because I couldn't control anything else in my 16 year old world. I used to eat alot of food, to the point that I got that nauseous feeling, then I'd rush to the bathroom, stick my fingers down my throat and barf everything up. I felt in control cuz I could eat anything and know that I wasn't getting fat. I did this for several months til one day I actually puked up blood with the food. That was a wake up call for me. Plus, the dentist could tell because my teeth enamal was more worn that is should have been. All that stomach acid ate away at the enamal. I was always tired and irritated because my body wasn't getting enough nutrients. This was really bad when I was on my period because I wasn't replenishing the extra iron I was losing, plus I was still growing. There's an underlying reason why you are bulimic. You need to talk to your parents and maybe even try therapy. Honestly, a shrink didn't do anything for me. I was bulimic on and off til I joined the Marine Corps and discovered exercise. I stay in shape, try and eat healthy, but even still, I still occasionally get the urge to binge and purge. That's when i go hit the gym. The rush I get from pushing myself beats being bulimic

Bulimia is a disorder. I know that everyone has their own preference; however I would have to guess that there is a VERY small amount of people that would find purging on purpose sexy. I know that obesity is a problem; however there are some people that are a little heavy, that actually look good; however if you are thin because of bulimia, your cheeks are sunken, your skin is not soft and the proportion of how you lose weight is uneven. Not to mention the destruction that is going on inside your body. If you do not know 'what the big deal is' you are probably in need of some serious help. There are many things that come to mind - when I hear a statement/question such as this.
You need to seek a person to talk to, not an online service. You need to understand that what you are doing is very unhealthy and even if you become thin - it will be disproportionate and probably cause you more severe personal issues.
The popular image of what is attractive is so skewed. I wish you much luck in finding some help. I am sure you will want to lash out at those that disagree with you; however I am a very healthy, slender woman that watches what she eats.... Most people want to date healthy looking people... losing the enamel on your teeth is not an attractive or healthy look. Contrary to what another poster wrote, stomach acid is far tougher than toothpaste. Whether you brush right after or not the internal damage that stomach acid can cause is just the tip of the ice berg as far as destruction.
I wish you well and please seek some help, if you TRULY do not know at least 10 things wrong with Bulimia... there is definitely more than one.
Best of luck!
Claire

1. It is not a healthy behavior to get into. It can be addictive so next time you eat a little more and throw it up, and then more and more, then you are full blown bulimic. 2. The stomach acid severely messes up your teeth. Once the enamel is worn away on your teeth is nearly impossible to remedy without getting fake teeth 3. It is bad for your esophagus to be vomiting that way. 4. You can damage the muscles in your throat when you force yourself to vomit

There are SO many things wrong with being bulimic or having any other eating disorder. Eating disorders fail to supply your body with nutrients necesarry for survival and general health. If you are trying to do this because you think you are overweight, go see a physician and ask to get your Body Mass Index tested. If for whatever reason you're still convinced that you're overweight, seek the assistance of a mental health counselor who could help you through this.

This Christmas, there are thousands of people starving in many poor countries. So, think about this:
Have you noticed that eating disorders are typical of countries which have more than enough of everything for almost everybody? What if you had to starve like those people in less developed nations, against your will? Is it worth becoming anorexic or bulimic for a thinner body, brittle bones, hunchbacks by age 40, multiple organ failure, and a shorter life? Isn't it ungrateful or egocentric to do that to yourself?

THERE IS TONS WRONG WITH BEING BULIMIC. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT AND READ THE FOLLOWING:
What causes medically serious consequences in bulimia is the act of vomiting. Many side effects and complications result needing immediate medical attention.
The disturbance of the chemical in the body fluid
The process of vomiting, drinking and vomiting again until the full content of the stomach is empty of food is a serious one. This process upsets the balance of body fluids and salts, namely potassium, sodium and chloride.
Low levels of potassium can result in cardiac arrhythmia, muscle cramps, muscle weakness and Tetany. Dehydration is obvious as a result of excessive behaviour. Although this can be reversed once you stop vomiting and taking laxatives/diuretics. Any long-term damage to heart, kidney and brain tends to be irreversible. Heart arrhythmia and even sudden cardiac arrest (heart attack) is possible.
Heartburn
Frequent vomiting can lead to problems with reflux which is partly digested acidic food coming back up from stomach. Usually it is caused by over eating, by eating rich or spicy food, or by drinking alcohol.
Swollen Parotid Glands
Binge-eating, vomiting, laxative abuse causes a great deal of irritation within the gastro-intestinal tract. Swelling of the salivary glands (including parotid glands) is common - giving rise to rounded face appearance. Sadly, many sufferers associate this as having a fat face - which then adds to the worry of looking and feeling overweight. Thus the vicious cycle continues.
Internal Bleeding
Occasionally violent vomiting causes a tear in the oesophagus (the long tube linking the mouth to the stomach). If the oesophagus ruptures, it is considered a medical emergency. Repeated vomiting over many years can also lead to a weakening of the oesophagus sphincter (muscles). The result of this can cause gastric reflux.
The throat is often damaged to due to an induced gag reflex by sticking a finger or device. The back of the throat is frequently injured and often bleeds then becomes infectious prone. Obvious tell-tale sign is that your voice becomes hoarse.
Skin Damage
People who stick their fingers in their throat to induce vomiting are prone to develop surface lesions. The repeated contact of the front teeth to the skin of the hand can result in abrasion of the skin, small lacerations and callosities on the surface of the hand (near the knuckle). This might be the only outward physical sign of bulimia.
Problems with Teeth
Tooth ache is common and frequent sore throats along with sore gums are also apparent. This is due to vomit containing hydrochloric acid (from the Digestive juice in the stomach) reaches the mouth frequently - causing erosion of the dental enamel (mainly on the inner surface of the teeth).
Many rush to brush their teeth vigorously after vomiting in an attempt to get rid of the smell. This actually damages the teeth further rapidly by the scarring effect. Once eroded, tooth enamel cannot be replaced. Constant exposure to acidity contributes to erosion of enamel, tooth decay and tooth loss.
This is often very painful and may lead to infections, bad breath and abscesses. Other dental problems include Jaw joint disorders, increased temperature sensitivity, periodontal disease, gingivitis and decreased salivary flow.
PLEASE GET HELP! PLEASE!

Your body is not meant to handle continued vomiting. Vomiting is the body's defense to remove or cleanse itself of bacteria or viruses. I could say so much more, but come on, you know it's just wrong.
