For example.....he went through a period where he quit smoking a few times, and went back.

2 months: Only ate Organic food
2 weeks: Only ate vegan food
For a few weeks: he will only drink beer
Next few weeks: only drinks wine
Started cooking dinner, then always ordered take out
Plays sports......then stops....... etc

What does this say about him? Or is this normal? To go through different phases all the time? I mean, sure we all go through phases at times, but he seems to go through them a lot. And when he gets into something he goes real extreme, then it dies down. ?

Doesn't this behavior remind you of anything? It is perfect two year old. This guy does not have a clue and he is floundering around with this and that and sticking to nothing for long enough to really get anything. Soon as it is no longer new and shiny, baby tosses it aside and moves on to the next new thing to catch his eye. Do you want to play Nanny? No then dump this guy until he finds out who he is and learns to make up his mind.

In this kind of relationship there are certain things that you can not say. (You are have to let the two of them work this out) I understand why you said what you said but either his mother or her father should have told her. (You just added more fuel to her fire by doing this) Your boyfriend is going to have to man up and tell her to stop the things that she is doing. SHE can not take any legal rights away from anyone. That is for a court to decide. I would suggest he get legal counsel. Start letting her calls go to voice mail. (you will have a recording of her ranting and the threats that are made) Quit giving her the attention that you are giving her. Don't talk to her when the kids go home. The two of you have a right to some piece. If it's not an emergency (a limb is coming off), stop picking up the phone.

I think ur bf likes to change. He cannot stick to something for a long time. There r some people who start doing everything with a lot of enthusiasm than after sometime losses interest in it. I am also one of them. But it does not mean I loose intesrest in everything after sometime. There r things that i get more fond of as time passes by. So, i would say that dont worry about it much.

Sounds like he has a depressive disorder, possibly obsessional.

These things last a while and then fade into the next. Becoming more and mroe common I am afraid. If he gets down though, get him to see a Dr.

It gets worse as you get older. I have ADHD and that's a sod, very similar to what he has.

We all go through phases don't we? He's experimenting trying to find himself maybe. Just accept/ tolerate it so long as it doesn't really affect your relationship. Noone is perfect.
