i think my mom is boarderline. She is so nuerotic too. If she finds one flaw with someone or something she blames and never accepts the fact that she is wrong. She has lost friendships for the stupidest reasons. She will completely drop a person if she suddenly decides she dosn't like them. With me, she wanted me to stop seeing my friend just because my friend dosn't drive much. She has a problem with every guy i ever dated. She only wants me to date guys she knows of or wants to set me up with. I refuse to do that and secretly see guys i like without her knowing. She will do things such as refusing to go shopping with me or even watch tv with me unless she gets her way. She didn't speak to me for a week because i spoke with my friend that she didn't like. She is too involved with everyone, the simplist things make her go off-what is wrong?

I'll give another example, just tonight, my brother who is 22, wanted to give his coworker a gift, she saw the gift and screamed on the top of her lungs that he shouldnt give that gift and that he should give the coworker something she had at home.
She also comes searching or contacting me if she argues with someone and she will not leave me alone until i say the words that she was right in that situation. Its like she even fishes for other people to claim she is right and blame others. its so wierd.
And on another note, my mom used to stalk me and my brother by driving past our friends houses to see if we were there or not-i mean she even stalks!!

Your mom sounds a lot like she has classic borderline personality disorder traits. Unfortunately, one of the issues with BPD's is that they are never wrong, so it is incredibly difficult for them to ever get any help.

you have to set up boundaries with her...
though she will not respect them at first..at the very least..
because she does sound borderline or at the very least mentally ill....
but if you stick firm to your boundaries you will win in the end..
you might have to wait until you are out of the house and cut off contact from her for a while...

she's not borderline i agree she has issues but i know a person with borderline, your mum is not borderline. the blaming aspect is borderline but it also a symptom of many many illness. with borderlines it's more blaming someone else for their own unhappiness and choices.
