It would depend, For a first date the movies and out to dinner. Once you get to know each other a bit better then it would be OK to spend time at home watching movies maybe you can cook for her. Trust me a woman melts when a man cooks for her.

Movies get out of the house. If she goes to your house she will be thinking you are after something and your parents will be in the way.

Why does it have to be between those two? If its a first date I think doing domething unique will make a better impression. Maybe iceskating, skiing, or dinner on a boat. If it has to be between staying at home or going to the movies I would say stay at home, because you will have more opportinity to be creative.

I think it would be sweet to rent a couple of movies. Have some snacks, popcorn, or fix her dinner. That would be so sweet. That gives you two the chance to focus on each other instead of the crowd at the movies.

You could watch movies at your house just as long as they are not X-rated.
